CLECA – Nigeria

CLECA is one of the three child protection projects the Cocoa Horizons Foundation started in 2024 with leading Child Rights Organizations.

Together with Terre des Hommes, we support cocoa-growing communities through CLECA (Community-Led Evidence Collection and Action). A method where children, families and local leaders work together to identify child protection issues and co-create solutions. Too often, decisions about children’s safety are made without asking them, in this project that changes. 

Children aren’t just drawing lines — they’re drawing conclusions

Children use drawing and storytelling to map what makes them feel safe — and what doesn’t. Children analyze their own needs and co-create action plans to address issues, and finally, communities turn these insights into real action plans.

By shifting the perspective, we’re building stronger, safer environments for every child
